There aren't very many real videos or actual footage of the Normandy invasion on June 6, 1944. This site has all of the best D-Day videos the internet has all on one page for convenience. So this site is dedicated to all of the American, British, and Canadian forces who took part in Operation Overlord and died so that we could live in peace and prosperity.

It's about time people understand and realized what these young men did for us on that day, and for the rest of the war. They fought for liberty and freedom, two things that most people take for granted today. If it were not for the Allied invasion, these rights would most likely be taken away from us.

Please, take your time to study these videos and realize what these soldiers faced on June 6, 1944.

I am looking for film footage that a Combat Photographer took while in a landing craft with the 29th Div. on the way to Omaha Beach. However, this particular footage may have been erroneously connected to the landing at Utah Beach. My father was in that landing craft and his face shows for about 3 seconds (but that is more than enough time for me!.

I saw it on the Military Channel last year, and no one has been able to help me find it since then. Any suggestions, please

The 29th division was one of FOUR american divisions operating on D-Day. They were specifically responsible for securing Omaha beach.

Do you know what unit your father was in? The 116th Infantry Regiment and the 2nd Ranger Battalion were the two units assigned to Omaha from the 29th Div.

Also, this website is a good source for information on the 29th Div. and has a full DVD set of the division. Maybe your father is in there.
